Happy Heart Day!

I wanted to wish all of you a Happy Valentine's Day! I know it's a pointless holiday but it has always been my favorite! Rusty is out of town today, which is kinda sad, but we celebrated before he left. I surprised him by cooking him breakfast and taking him to get a pedicure. He would never agree to go with me because it's "too girly", but since it was a surprise, he couldn't say no. I knew once he was there he'd be in heaven, and I was right! We also went to my favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse and then to see the Vow. Such a fun day!

I needed some Valentine decorations, so I made a few things and found a cute printout from here. Super easy and I loved how it turned out!

Rusty gave me a few gifts for Valentines, but this was my favorite. I needed a new tape dispenser for my scrapbooking desk and he bought me one that was shaped like a heel. He thought it would be a funny gift but I actually loved it! I also loved his homemade card!:)

Anyway, since I forgot to take a picture of the gift and card I made Rusty (he has it with him), I found a card that I made awhile ago.

I finally got hitched in October and it was an amazing day! The weather the day before and day after were in the 70's but on our wedding day, it was 40 degrees and raining/snowing. I was sad but I didn't let it ruin the day. Isn't it supposed to be good luck when rains?

I hate February because it's freezing and ugly outside and I am always broke from Christmas.:( It would be such a depressing month, but Valentine's Day falls at the perfect time of year. A few months ago I moved into an apartment. It's been fun, but if you have ever had a apartment, you know how ugly and bare it can be and how hard it is to decorate a small space. I didn't have a lot of money to work with so I decided to get a little crafty.:)

My dining room

This frame was given to me by one of my cute friends and I needed a place to put it! I had some old shelves that I got from IKEA and had my husband put them up.

I know I'm kind of a nerd, but I collect sand from every vacation I go on. It's so much better than bringing home a t-shirt or a postcard! I label them with the date and place and put them in spice jars.

I used Rusty's scrabble game...hopefully he won't notice there are pieces missing!:)

I love everything about Christmas! Rusty couldn't believe how many decorations I had already collected. I think I might be more excited this year than years past. Rusty and I had fun decorating our tree and apartment.

He says he hates Christmas but he was having more fun than me. I think he decorated about 90% of our tree..with my guidance, of course. Lets face it, every guy needs help with their decorating skills.:)

I decided to take off the 80's red bows and replace them with something much better!

Rusty wanted a 1st year ornament and I told him he could pick out anything he wanted. This is the one he chose! Ha!:) It makes me laugh every time I look at it. At least it matches the tree, right?

I was impressed by his gift wrapping skills too! After wrapping the 3 presents, he was sweating and all worn out! Poor guy!:)

I have a lot of things from my wedding that I loved, but my invitation had to be one of my favorites! Mostly because is was so ME!:) I also loved the colors and how unique it was.

I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like. When I told her I wanted to use bakers twine and hang a tag from the front, she didn't think I was crazy like so many other people did. I LOVED how it turned out. This is the flip side of the invitation.

It's a tradition to go see the lights at temple square and this year we went with our friends, Lisa and Spencer. I love it downtown during the Christmas season!:) I was a happy girl when I found out they still played movies in the visitors center. I forgot how much I loved the movie, Mr. Kruger's Christmas!

I decided to take Rusty with me to get my Bridal pictures taken because I hate pictures of just me! It's a little awkward! I'm happy I made him come because it ended up snowing on our wedding day. :( We went up to a cute little barn in Park City and that is where most of our pictures were taken.

I made this Thank You sign so I could make post cards for my thank you notes. Turned out kinda cute....

After 2 1/2 years of dating, Rusty finally popped the question at the beginning of June. He was really good at keeping it a secret from me, I had no idea that he was planning on proposing when he did. He proposed on a helicopter ride over downtown SLC that we had scheduled months earlier. It was funny because his hands were sweating so bad and he just kept saying that the helicopter was SO hot...and still, to this day, he won't admit he was super nervous. Everything about that day was perfect!

After the helicopter ride, he took me to the Melting Pot for dessert. He sure knows how to win me over...diamonds and chocolate!

I love my ring! I think he did a pretty good job at designing it himself!

Lately I have been addicted to watching anything on HGTV. That channel is right up there with the Food Network and TLC! HGTV makes me wish I had a place of my own to go crazy and decorate! One day!:) Unless I won the Green House.... That would be amazing! I NEVER win anything though, especially with something like this, you don't really have any kind of chance. I can only wish..... You have to check this house out! I LOVE IT!

Okay, I know I missed last friday but I have a good excuse... I was really busy with school and Valentines day!:) This friday, I thought I would show you a lamp shade that I made for my room. I was looking for a cute lamp shade forever and couldn't find a white one anywhere, so I decided to make one. It's really basic and was super easy to make.

I bought this lamp at Target for about $15.00

I found this ribbon at a craft store and used a little hot glue to put it around the bottom of the lamp shade.

A few days ago I got really bored and decided to bake some cupcakes. I have been wanting to make red velvet cupcakes for awhile so I got on the internet in search of some good recipes. There were ton of them and I couldn't decide on what one I wanted to try. Call me crazy...I made all 3 recipes and had a little taste test! I was surprised at how different they all tasted, but I still wasn't too impressed with any of them. I am super picky when it comes to red velvet cake! So if any of you have a yummy recipe, send it my way!

If you haven't seen the movie Country Strong, you NEED to see it! I have seen it twice and I already want to see it again. I even bought the soundtrack and I never buy soundtracks. Maybe it is because I am in love with country music and cowboys! But who doesn't love cowboys?? Acutally my favorite actor/actress in the movie was Leighton Meester, she was really cute in it. I promise, even if you don't like country music, you will like this movie....at least I hope you do.

So, I am going to try something new! I have wanted to do this for awhile now, but haven't really been able to. As a lot of you know I used to work as an artist at Stampin' Up and while there, I made all kinds of projects....some cute, some not so cute! I love that I can now do whatever I want, use whatever stamp set I want and I have no one to critique my stuff. It's a lot more fun! Each Friday, I am going to try to post a new idea or project that I have made. I hope you like it! :)

This past weekend, I was able to go to the Sundance film festival with some friends. I love park city, but it is so dang cold in the winter! Why can't sundance be in the summer? The only celebs we saw this year were Oprah and her friend Gayle. But at least we saw someone, right?

This car seriously had eyelashes! Isn't that the most ridiculous thing you have ever seen?

Jessica and I were trying to take a picture of the boys and they wouldn't be serious for one minute. This is the best of what we got!

since I have posted on here! Life has been a little nuts and it's finally slowing down a bit. The holidays came and went so fast, and its always sad when it's over. Luckily, I had my birthday to look forward to. This year my birthday was amazing! It was the best birthday I have had in a very long time. I think I celebrated for about a week, thanks to my friends, family, and Rusty!

Rusty bought me flowers and surprised me by getting me the cowboy boots that I was saving up to buy! I love them, aren't they cute? The next day, he took me out to dinner and a movie. He is a sweet one!

Fall is my favorite time of year and this is the first year in a long time, that I was actually able to enjoy it! It has been a crazy month for sure...I left my job of 6 1/2 years and it is the best thing that could have happened! Being around negativity, gossip, and backstabbing all day, every day, was really hard to deal with! I didn't realize how bad it was until I was out and I couldn't be happier now. Of course I will miss a lot of people that I worked with...you know who you are and you BETTER keep in contact! Things happen for a reason and I am really excited for the change. And so....that is the update of my life right now and here are some fun pictures from this past month.

This past week, Riehl Events hosted a wedding conference for all types of wedding professionals. I was lucky enough to be able to work at the event and was able to listen to all of the presentations. There are some talented people out there and I learned a lot from all of them! Afterwords, we were invited to the after party at the Metropolitan restaurant in downtown SLC. We had a lot of fun and ate some yummy dessert.

As much as I love fall, I always hate when summer ends because that means that snow is just around the corner. No more fun concerts, rodeo's, fair's, camping, swimming....I could go on and on. I get so bored in the winter and hate being cold, so I guess you can say that I HATE winter! At least this past summer I was able to do a lot of fun things.

Rusty and I went to a TON of rodeo's this summer. It's one of our favorite things to do.

Cabin trip #1- Rusty and I went up to my cabin with our friends, Jessica and Tony. It was really fun to have them up there with us. We played the wii all night long and just hung out. Jess and I were ready to kill the boys because they were so hyped up on sugar!

I don't think Tony was too happy to be taking pictures! :)

Cabin trip #2- Over Labor day weekend, my family, Rusty, and I went up to our cabin once more. This time I was able to stay for a few days and had a blast!

Rusty carried his pocket knife with him everywhere he went! It was actually kind of funny! But he found a tree and carved our initials in it. Aww...so cute! :)

The state fair is always a good time! My favorite part is the people watching....I don't need to say anymore because you all know what I mean! :) Scary people!

Rusty thought he was a cowboy and wanted to try out the bull. He was even prepared with his cowboy boots!

Stampin Up! Rooms

Every year, Stampin Up! has a convention and the demonstrators come to the home office to tour it. We have rooms that are decorated every few years and this was the year they had to be done. I am on the team that designs and works on the rooms and it was a LOT of work! They all turned out AWESOME....at least I think so! :)

Last night I was able to help with a wedding at the La Caille restaurant. It was amazing! I had to post some pictures so you could see for yourself.

There were a lot of cute little details at this wedding, but my favorite had to be the adorable chair covers. Love them!!

Las Vegas + Kenny Chesney concert + Rusty's birthday + 4th of July = The BEST weekend ever!

We spent the weekend in Las Vegas to celebrate Rusty's birthday. He always likes to get away for his birthday and I am totally up for that! How can I pass up a vacation??

Rusty was amused by the water wall at the Aria hotel. It was pretty cool. :)

Behind us are ice sculptures. The inside of the new hotel was amazing!

We went to the Kenny Chesney concert on Rusty's birthday. It was such a fun concert and we had a GREAT time, but it was SO hot in that place! We were so sick and gross after...I won't show you those pics! ;) Happy Birthday Rus! Hope you had a great birthday!

Girls Trip!

My friends and I decided to take a girls trip to Las Vegas at the beginning of June. We all needed a vacation so bad! Even though we only a day and a half there, it was a lot of fun! We crammed in so many things, I really don't know how we did it. We went to a show, shopped until we couldn't walk anymore, laid by the pool, and ate way too much food! Our feet were killing us by the end but it was all worth it!:)

The flower room at the Bellagio hotel is my favorite place in Vegas. Everything is made out of flowers. It's really cool!

We went to see KA at MGM Grand. It was amazing!

Our hotel had a lazy river. I wish we could have spent the entire day there! Too bad it had to rain!

We had so much fun hanging out and talking about EVERYTHING! I hope I will get to take another girls trip soon!

Summer concerts!

Summer concerts have officially started! It is probably my favorite thing to do in the summertime, especially when they are outside! This past weekend, I went to the Tracy Lawrence concert. Most of you probably don't know who in the heck he is, but he is an older country singer that I LOVE! The best part was that one of Rusty's friends had an extra meet and greet pass so I was able to meet him.:) Rusty was so nice to let me go instead of himself. It was a fun night!

I just got back from a much needed vacation. I went on a Mexican Rivera Cruise, on the nicest ship ever! There were so many fun things to do, we didn't even have time to do everything! We drove into Long Beach, California for Rusty's cousin's wedding and hung out with his family all weekend. :) Then on Sunday, we were off to Mexico for a week! We had a blast! I took a ton of pictures....so I'm warning you....there are lots on this post! :)

No work!
No school! I shouldn't have taken a break because now I really don't want to go back.
Spring weather. It's FINALLY here and it makes me so so happy!
Food Network. I can seriously watch it for HOURS!
Spring shopping! Now that I have a little bit of money, I am going crazy with the shopping. BAD!
General Conference. It's like church, but in your pajamas. :)

Country music. Rusty took me to the Emerson Drive concert in Wendover. That place is so ghetto but the people watching is the best ever! When you leave there, you feel much better about yourself. :) I also won 20 bucks on the penny slots!
Dinner. I went to dinner with my good friend Jessica. We went to Olive Garden and were there for 3 hours because we couldn't stop talking!
Coloring eggs. Even though I am old....I still love it!

Now I'm off to Cali and Mexico for 2 more great weekends! :)

A few weeks ago, Rusty was in a Famous Daves wing eating contest. He and two other guys were picked to compete. In the first round he tied for 1st place, so they had to do a tie breaker round and eat more! He lost by one wing! :( Im not gonna lie....it kinda made me sick to watch how fast they were eating the wings! I don't know how they ate so many because they were the super spicy ones. I think Rusty ended up eating about 25 wings to get 2nd place! SICK!!

He won an apron that said "Famous Dad"....kinda funny and lots of other Famous Daves stuff too.

Last weekend, some friends of mine invited us to a BBQ and to watch the Jazz game. I am so happy that winter is FINALLY over and that it's starting to warm up a little. I've missed being outside! I hate winter and wish it would never come back!! I don't know why I live in Utah???

I know this is a little late...sorry! My birthday was so much fun this year. I usually hate celebrating my birthday, but this year I was able to celebrate all weekend long!:) When I went into work on my birthday, my desk was decorated so cute! The girls I work with are all so creative! Later that night I went to Red Lobster with my family, then came home to eat the best cake ever. If you haven't tried the chocolate bundt cake from 'Nothing Bundt Cakes', you are missing out big time! Seriously!:) The following day, Rusty took me to Cheesecake Factory (my favorite) for dinner. He surprised me by inviting some of my good friends to eat with us. It was a lot of fun! I am so lucky to have such a great family and boyfriend!! :)

I just booked a cruise to Mexico and I CAN'T WAIT!! I need a vacation so so so bad right now, I just wish I didn't have to wait until April. :( We are going on a super nice ship too! It has a mini golf course, ice skating rink, rock climbing wall ( I won't be doing that) and tons of other cool things. I have been on a few cruises, but never on a ship like this one. I'm so excited!

I always hate when Christmas is over...especially taking down all of the decorations! I had a GREAT Christmas though! The whole month of December was so much fun and super busy. Thankfully, my adorable boyfriend put up with me and my Christmas spirit! I LOVE the holidays and he doesn't. :( He was a good sport!

I had to post some pictures of gifts I received from a few of my friends. I love cooking and was really excited to get a recipe box with super cute salad servers! We played a white elephant game at work and that is what I ended up with. :) I also loved the letterpress letters with my initial on them!

I work at Stampin' Up! and every year there are some teams that go all out! This year all of the photographers dressed up as the cast from Zoolander. So funny! The Marketing dept. (my sisters team) dressed up like the movie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. They even did the Oompa Loompa dance! Here are some videos so you can see for yourself!

NEW PUPPY!

About a month ago we had to put our dog Jordan to sleep because she was so old and really sick. We had her for 18....almost 19 years! It was the saddest thing ever....I was such a mess! (Just ask Rusty) :( About a week later we decided to get a new puppy because we missed Jordan so much. She is the cutest little puppy!! We named her Molly. :) She is one HYPER little thing and kind of a brat! But so dang cute, you can't get mad at her!

A lot of you have been wondering what I've been up to this past summer, so I will start posting some of the fun things that I've done....starting with Cancun!!!

I seriously took about 400 pictures so it was really hard to choose only a few to put on here! We had so much fun!

Drinking our Bahama Mama drinks...mmmm. We had so many! The best part about it was that they were free. How can you pass that up?
